I had planned a full return to dance music in 2016, and "Trapped Inside" was intended to be the second single off of a dance EP which also contained "Looking 4 Love" and another song, "Fatal Attraction," which I later released in its extended mix on "The Essential 12" Masters." As I had trouble with the EP's composition in regards to the changing landscape in dance and pop music, I decided to drop "Trapped Inside" as a standalone single.
